Taman Ujung is a water palace who built by the last king of Karangasem  Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut. This water palace was built in 1919 to welcome and to serve important guests and kings from neighboring regencies.

Taman Ujung was extensively damaged by an earthquake in 1979. The water palace was rebuilt with sponsorship from the worlbank, so now visit to Taman Ujung  is absolutely worthwhile. You can wander around the remnants of the main pool, admire the views from the pavilion higher up to the hill above the rice paddies.
